Library
Welcome to the Netherhall School Libraries homepage.
There is a library on each site. The Lower School library contains fiction and non-fiction resources aimed at Keystage 3 students; the Upper School library holds resources for Keystage 4 and Sixth Form students. There is also a selection of newspapers and magazines on both sites.
Both libraries are open to all students at morning and lunchtime breaks. You may borrow books from either site; books in the Lower School are issued for 2 weeks, those in the Upper School for 1 week. You can always renew your books if you need to.
Both libraries aim to create a peaceful environment for those who wish to study or read. The staff, Mrs Dickinson and Mrs Ellison look forward to seeing you and are always willing to help if needed.
Carnegie Award – you’ve got to be in it, to win it.
Netherhall School was delighted to work with students from Swavesey Village College on a day of debate and discussion about the shortlisted Carnegie Award books. Each book was discussed and voted on and awards were given for the best ‘blurb,’ the best start and the best cover.
After a great deal of argument and discussion the students voted ‘Apache’ as their preferred choice. At 12.30pm the embargo was lifted and Mrs Dickinson announced the official winner: ‘Here Lies Arthur,’ by Philip Reeve. It’s a cracking story – a version of the legend of King Arthur and works as a fantasy tale and a historical novel. If you haven’t read it, do so!! It’s in the Lower School Library.
