Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme at Netherhall
The Bronze Award
-Started in year 10 with two weekend expeditions, one practice to Saffron Walden and a final assessed expedition to the Peak District.
-Students then complete their service, physical recreation and skills section by the end of year 11.
Some Year 10 parents have enquired about the possibility of students
doing an intensive Duke of Edinburgh course over summer 2012.
The school is unable to endorse any external provider but it is our
understanding that www.azexpeditions.com may have some availability
in the Peak District for summer 2012. Interested parents would need to
make their own enquiries through the website.
The Gold Award (Sixth Form)
-Started in year 12 with training to prepare students for a five day practice expedition to the Peak District.
-The final assessed expedition is completed at the start of year 13 in September
-Students then complete the other sections of the award during their time in the sixth form centre.
