Library
Welcome to the Netherhall School Library homepage.
The library contains fiction and non-fiction resources for all students in the school. There is also a selection of newspapers and magazines. Students may use the computers to access the internet and the school’s intranet.
The library is open to all students at morning and lunchtime breaks. Keystage 3 and 4 students can borrow books for two weeks; Sixth Form students may borrow the resources for 1 week. You can always renew your books if you need to.
The library aims to create a peaceful environment for those who wish to study or read. The Librarian, Mrs Dickinson, looks forward to seeing you and is happy to help if needed.
Carnegie Award – you’ve got to be in it, to win it.
Each year CILIP (the professional organisation for librarians and information scientists) awards a prize to the best book for children and young adults published in the UK during the year). Netherhall students join a shadowing group who read all of the short-listed titles and meet up on the day the award winner is announced to vote for their own choice. This year we were delighted to be joined by students from the Perse School. During the morning there was a great deal of animated discussion as students argued for their choice for the award. The winner was ‘The Graveyard Book’ by Neil Gaiman – it’s in stock in the library so come and read it!
