HOME LANGUAGES

All students from Year 9 to Year 13 whose fist language is not English are entitled to sit an examination in their first language.

Students in Years 9 to 13 may take a GCSE examination

Students in Years 11 to 13 may take a GCE examination (over 2 years)

Interested students should complete the necessary form (available from the Exams Office) and return it by the end of January of the year in which the exam is to be taken.

It is important that students wishing to take an exam in their home language are committed to succeeding in that exam and are prepared to work on their own initiative.

For the majority of languages there is no additional support in school.
