Access Arangements
Aug 4th, 2008 • Category: What you need to knowACCESS ARRANGEMENTS
The Examinations Officer and SENCO will organise access arrangements for students during exams, such as:
- Use of a word processor
- Use of a reader
- Supervised rest breaks
- Use of a prompter
- A separate room in which to take exams
- Enlarged exam papers
- Additional time (up to 25% extra time may be granted)
- Use of a bilingual dictionary
By October each year, the SENCO, Form Tutors, Subject Teachers, Subject Leaders, Key Stage Managers, the Head of Sixth Form and parents should inform the Exams Officer of any students who may be eligible for access arrangements for their exams. It may be that students with a particular condition, but without a specific learning difficulty, are entitled to such arrangements.
Emergency Access Arrangements
It is also possible to provide emergency access arrangements due to unexpected circumstances, eg, if a student is unable to write as a result of a broken arm, a scribe can be provided.
All Access Arrangements have to be approved by the exam boards before they can be implemented
