Student Remote Access

Jul 30th, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

We are pleased to announce a school wide trial of remote access to students. You are able to log in to Moodle, as well as a full Windows desktop from home. You are also able to print to your home printer.

You are required to have latest version of Java installed on your computer. If you do not have Java you will be prompted to install it. If you decline the update you will not be able to use the system.

Java is provided by Sun Microsystems. The Netherhall School is not responsible problems arising from or support of your Java installation. As a safeguard, we recommend you virus scan any files you download from the Internet.

The remote access system is operated by Cambridgeshire County Council. The Netherhall School is not responsible for problems caused by disruption or maintenance of Cambridgeshire County Council systems. Information on scheduled maintenance will be detailed on this page.

We remind you that as you are using a Netherhall School owned system, all aspects of Netherhall’s acceptable computer use policy apply whilst you use the system. Your use may be monitored by an administrator, and what you do is logged.

You will be asked to log in with your standard username and password. Once logged in, the link to Moodle will let you use Moodle, the link to JD will let you use some of the school software via Windows. This is also where you can access your school files. If you find JD is slow then please use the link to our additional server, Turk.

The LEA will be working on the Remote Access system on Saturday 22nd May between 07:00 and 18:00. The system will be unavailable during this time.
